  Work In Progress Log

April 29, 2009

Yet another month has flown by. First of all, I have to brag about The Wild Rose Press full-page color spread in the June Romantic Times magazine. Look for A Summer’s Hope! I’m thrilled with my first ad! In March, finished Lee Lofland’s investigative guide for writers. Immensely helpful! Thank you, Lee. Edits have begun for Bluest Heart as galley work is underway for the Wayback print anthology. The book page is coming, I promise. The cover can be viewed at my blog. The print anthology Blackest Heart will be appearing in has a name and a cover: The Way Back Home. Release date is slated for July. More...

February 28, 2009

First of all, apologies for not updating sooner. I took a month off from writing after completing Urban Secrets because of burn-out. But I managed to get some other things done in the meantime. Good news on the submissions front: Bluest Heart, the sequel to Blackest Heart, is officially contracted for publication with TWRP. As soon as I have a cover, the book page will go up here at my website. My western editor also informed me that Blackest Heart will be published in a print anthology with Marguerite Arotin and Abbey MacInnis’s Wayback stories. A contract has been signed and more information will be forthcoming as soon as we receive a title and cover. I received a lovely 5 Hearts review from The Romance Studio for Blackest Heart, and I want to give a shout-out to all my amazing readers who have left comments at my contact address. Thank you so much for supporting me and taking the time to drop a few lines. Your words mean the world to me! More...

December 2008

Okay, recap. I feel like I just did this for 2007. This year has really whipped by. Like 2007, I contracted two stories in 2008. I’m hoping this year I can up the ante a little bit and get three or more acceptances. We’ll see. I’m pushing for it already.

I finished my first dark paranormal, a little later than I would’ve liked but—hey, holidays! Anyway, I love it. It turned out really well. And my first novel in over a year completed in two months? Feels pretty darn good. I’m ready to do it again. In fact, the next is already started with a detailed plot outline to go with it. Already lovin’ my hero. I need to read up on some police jargon before I get too far into the story. And before that I need to edit my second Fairhope story, Autumn Muse, for my new TWRP editor as well as do a bit of requested revision on my second Wayback story, which is at this time untitled. I also want to finish the sequel to Fox & Hound by the end of February so unless I write the two consecutively, the second paranormal may be pushed back to March. I’ve also fallen in love with Harlequin’s new Historical Undone line and came up with a concept I’d like to explore. Meanwhile, I’ll be sending my completed paranormal, entitled Urban Secrets, to Kensington and selected agents. More...

November 30, 2008

It’s definitely been an eventful month. Between NaNo and two releases, I’m exhausted! Denied Origin is now available in print from Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. Blackest Heart also got an unexpected November release and can be purchased at The Wild Rose Press and is still on the bestseller list. I’m waiting on reviews now.  More...

October 31, 2008

I’ve been a bit of a slacker this month. Terribly sorry. Work is picking up for the holidays and this month I was deep in edits with my Champagne Rose editor for A Summer’s Hope and my Wayback editor for Blackest Heart. I read edits and galleys until my eyes protested and tried to glue themselves shut. Not that I blame them. Blackest Heart is still tied up in galleys, but I’m happy to report that A Summer’s Hope is completed (*wipes sweat off brow*) and has a digital and PRINT release date of May 27, 2009…the same day as my wedding anniversary, which makes it all the more special. August 31, 2008

More great news to report this month! First of all, The Wild Rose Press was so generous as to offer me a contract for A Summer’s Hope, the first novella in my hometown series. It has already been through its first round of edits and will hopefully have a cover soon so all the information can be posted on the BOOKS page. Also Blackest Heart has also gone into edits with the TWRP western editor. Both have been very kind and given me tons of constructive comments. More...

July 29, 2008

This month has been focused primarily on the August 1st release of Denied Origin. I’m thrilled to report that my suspense already has an excellent review from Writers and Readers of Distinctive Fiction. I’m spending at least two hours everyday working on promotion. This one of the few times writing really feels like work, but alas it must be done. I’ll be posting the first excerpt on my blog today. I’m scheduled to guest blog at Rose Marie Wolf’s blog-spot on August 5 th. I’ll be talking about The Process and posting and exclusive excerpt so be sure to watch my blog for the link! More...

June 30, 2008

Writing’s been a bit slow this month, but that’s only because the hubster and I are moving. Hopefully soon I’ll be back on the regular track as soon as the boxes are unpacked and my new office is in order.

My CPs have approved the first three chapters of my historical, Love Among the Ruins, which I will be sending to Kensington as soon as I write the dreaded synopsis. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I really, really, really want to sell this story. It’s my first baby J More...

May 31, 2008

The week before my birthday, I got an email from the Yellow Rose senior editor at TWRP with the great news that Blackest Heart, the first book in my Wayback trilogy, was sold! The cover designed by Tamra Westberry has been posted on my BLOG as well as on my BOOKS page with blurb and excerpt so be sure to check it out! I’ll report when edits begin and a release date is scheduled.  More...
